POINT COOK DECKING PROJECT

Award Winning Deck in Point Cook

Situated in the Lakeside Suburb of Point Cook, Melbourne Australia, this project was completed in June 2014. The previous decking board was an Australian Hardwood called Vic Ash. Whilst a beautiful natural product, the material was not suited to the extreme weather conditions. The Vic Ash was a maintenance nightmare and had now twisted and shrunk so badly it was unsafe for use anymore

We recommended to the client that a total demolition was in order and replacement and redesign should involve the use of a composite decking board material.

The sub structure was built using Australian H3 Treated pine and all fixings made of stainless steel and galvanised steel. After much consultation the Trex Transcend grooved decking board was chosen and Spiced Rum was the preferred colour to help enhance the contrasting colours on the existing building.

Whilst only relatively new to the Australian market, composite decking materials are becoming more and more popular. At Decking Out Melbourne we feel that these materials are not only so very environmentally friendly but the way of the future and we strive to be at the forefront of the wave of change.
